Sweden and Denmark region emerged from glacial ice as lands of lakes and islands, mountains and plains.  These peoples share a common Norse heritage that includes elements of language, religion, and art.  Over time they eventually developed cultures of their own but they still share a common heritage.  This area is perched atop northern Europe, and is situated along the western boundary of the Baltic Sea, relative geographic isolation did not stop their influence in the cultures of Europe.
